The top pictures are from a few weeks ago- we had some spirit/dress up days. These are "pinkout" and "color wars". My grade level had purple so I took on the challenge. Really, though, these outfits aren't so outside the box for me. I ended up sick the rest of the week so I missed patriotic day and hippie day.

The Brighton floral pants were only $20 and make me ridiculously happy. I do think they'll be better with wedge sandals when the weather is warmer, and my toes have been scrubbed and polished. Hopefully, that will be soon!

So the story of this week: cold, cold, and more cold! We were supposed to get a major snow event Tuesday but it didn't end up being enough to warrant a snow day. We just had enough to make it slushy and miserable. So this week was truly about being able to slog across the parking lot without falling, while still looking marginally appropriate to teach. Hence, the more casual looks. I just wasn't feeling necklaces with any of this so scarves were in heavy rotation. We finally finally got a snow day today, and I'm thinking (hoping) we'll be out Friday too!

So I made it a month not only without shopping, but without drinking. Shopping my closet has actually been relatively refreshing. I've been turning hangers backwards as I wear items and well, there are still a lot of forward-facing hangers in my closet. Kind of puts things in perspective. I am *definitely* ready for a drink though, and that will be handled forthwith!

Back to work this week. It went pretty smoothly considering everyone's brains were basically mush for two weeks. My no-shopping-January is in full swing. I still have some things I bought over break that haven't been worn yet, so it isn't too painful. Talk to me around the 28th, though...

Been quiet on the outfit front, it being winter break and all. We ventured out yesterday for dinner and errands. Tomorrow is back to school except... it is pretty wintry out there. We got some snow this morning-not enough to keep us out of school by itself though. Buuuuuuuuut wind chills tomorrow are supposed to be sub-zero in the morning and we wouldn't want the baby children out at the bus stops or walking to school in that. Anyhow I could really go either way. I'm prepared to go back, but I'm also prepared to sleep in another day!

** LOVE THESE PANTS! Ordered them and had them delivered to my mom's over Christmas during the 40% off cords sale. They went on sale-sale the next week and Anthro gave me a price adjustment plus the 25% off promo! I luckily managed to find them in two more colors in-store for only $35 each after the discount! I am now on a month long shopping diet so I'm glad I found these on my last day of gluttony!
