So Tuesday I had open toes and today I'm home with a snow day. Considering winter doesn't even hit for another two weeks, I'm not sure how this bodes for January and February.

The shirt in the top pic was one of the few successes from Black Friday. I ordered a ton and I'm going to have to return a lot of it. I'm pretty bummed because I was excited about some pieces. I'm also kicking myself for not visiting in-store so that I could have been assured of things I liked. Oh well. We'll be in Texas for Christmas and their malls blow ours away, so here's to after-Christmas sales!

So a kid asked me on Monday, "Why do you have a cat on your shirt?" My response was "Why DON'T you have a cat on your shirt?" and now I think he has a goal. I'm glad I'm inspiring the youth of America.

The second outfit was for a movie date to see "Catching Fire" in the fancy theater with reclining heated seats. I was thinking comfort comfort comfort. This fit the bill.

Black Friday shopping was okay, but I just don't think anything is ever going to top 2011's 50% off sale promo. I ordered from Anthro, Gap, and Nordstrom and now the waiting game begins.

It is that weird time of year when temps fluctuate on a daily or even hourly basis. I was looking at some posts from about a year ago and we had temperatures in the 90s up through about mid-November. Now it is just starting to get cold, but not quite enough to need a bunch of layers every day. It is supposed to pour rain for the next two days, but we'll see.

Summer is definitely over. Last year we got pretty warm temperatures up through November, but I don't think we're getting a repeat. This dress was part of Modcloth's "Stylish Surprise". Basically you tell them your size and for $15 you get ... something. This was actually my friend/coworkers surprise that just wasn't quite her. It definitely needed some layering and working with to make it appropriate, but I think I pulled it off.

The Mariner tank is making a dual appearance here as a vest. Worn as a tank the horizontal stripes + volumes of fabric are not flattering, but it makes the perfect drapey vest. The C Wonder sweater was definitely a splurge, but I'm sooo glad I got it as it is sold out now, and I love me a good wiener. On its next outing it will probably get paired with the AG cords worn in the outfit prior to it. So see, I am all about versatility.

First week of school = I actually got dressed, I just got lazy about uploading the camera. My feet are so blistery right now from having to wear actual SHOES which is why the DV Archer sandals have been making repeat appearances. They are the closest thing to going barefoot, while still being appropriately dressed for work. Dillard's has some additional colors on sale for $17!!! so I'm trying to decide how many of the same pair of shoes is excessive.
