I believe in the simple power of alterations to make clothes work for you. However, practicing what I preach doesn't always happen. I just get lazy. But here I am, wearing two altered pieces that otherwise would probably just be hanging my closet. The weather continues to cool down a bit which is allowing cords, scarves and sweaters to come out of hiding. Next week we're expecting some windy days, so boots might finally get to make an appearance. Continuing to shop my closet, and be grateful for what I have.

The slightly changing temps mean that I'm sort of breaking out of my wardrobe rut. Being able to put on a few layers always helps. I'm really resisting the urge to keep just adding, adding, adding things to my overstuffed closet. I need to get over my mental block of repeating ensembles. (I like to find new combinations to wear what I have.) It is also probably time to clean out or store some things that don't really fit, etc.

I am feeling wholly uninspired by my wardrobe lately. Don't get me wrong, I know I am incredibly fortunate to be in a position in life where I have pretty nice clothes and an abundance of things to wear. I just feel like I'm at this weird age where I should maybe start dressing a bit more "grown up". I'm just not sure what that means other than looking old and boring, which isn't me! The weather is changing which means layers and boots soon, so maybe that is all I need to freshen things up a bit.

Apparently I was on a blue streak this week. I realized two outfits I didn't photograph were also shades of blue. We are rolling towards fall. I have a few things to work in the rotation next week before temps really start to drop. I am definitely ready for layers, though!

Pouring rain at the beginning of the week.. beautiful spring days now! One thing about living in Oklahoma, I really value the days that are not too hot/cold/humid/windy/rainy/snowy. Growing up in CA all of that was just taken for granted. And now I am really in the final countdown to summer, with 15 school days left!
